Asus Padphone: phone united with the tablet

The Taiwanese computer giant surprises everyone at Computex with striking smartphone-tablet combo. Asus has unveiled the Padfone, a striking new Android smartphone that can also be used as a tablet, an hybrid device that looks like any other touch tablet but with a slot for carrying a smartphone. In other words, the tablet body itself acts as a case for the phone.

The 4.3in Android smartphone can be slotted into the back of its 10.1in tablet accessory – all of the apps and data on the phone can then be accessed on the tablet.

The tablet's battery can also be used to charge the phone, while the phone's camera can still be used thanks to a cutout for the phone's camera lens on the back.

For people who love both tablets and smartphones, this might be the perfect solution.
